Hospitality VCE
Serve It Up provides a range of hospitality VET in school courses and micro-credentials. This will include VET course options for students undertaking the VCE Vocational Major (VM) and other VET hospitality certificates such as VETDSSS. The VCE VM will develop your practical life skills and help to prepare you for the next important stage of your life. Completing a hospitality VET program will increase your employability and career options upon completion of your VCE.
Barista Pro – VCE VM
This course will teach you the skills & knowledge you need to work in a cafe or restaurant environment as a barista. You will learn coffee making, latte art, coffee service, customer service, point of sale and cash handling. Every week will inlcude hands on practicals skills training plus theory.

- SITHFAB025 Prepare and serve espresso coffee
- SITXFIN007 Process financial transactions
Outcomes
- Graduate with the nationally accredited skill set SITSS0080- Espresso Machine Operation
- Includes your Food Handler’s Certificate
- All units Credit Transfer into a Certificate II, III or IV Hospitality
- Job Outcome = Barista, cafe attendant
- This VCE VM course consists of 95 nominal hours and equates to 1 VET credit when successfully completed
- This course is suitable for students in years 10 or 11

Hospitality Essentials VCE VM
This course will teach you the skills & knowledge you need to work in a variety of hospitality venues as a food and beverage attendant. You will achieve your RSA and learn many different types of hospitality service styles. It will cover taking orders, using the point of sale, carrying 3 plates, serving and clearing, complaint handling, and much more.

- RSA Certificate
- All units Credit Transfer into a Certificate II, III or IV Hospitality

VCE VET Hospitality
SIT20322 Certificate II in Hospitality
This qualification has been targeted to a front-of-house hospitality stream. Over one year you will complete all the units required for your Certificate II in Hospitality including your RSA and food handlers’ certificate. You will be able to work in cafes, restaurants, bars, pubs or clubs.

Delivery
- 2pm-6pm every Wednesday – 1 day per week over 2 years, 39/617-643 Spencer Street West Melbourne (Hospitality Campus)
- No classes during the school holidays
- 12 service periods in a real workplace form part of the work experience component. Students can complete workplacement at our cafe “Hunters and Disciples”.

- This course consists of 302 nominal hours over the 2 year period, which equates to 3 VCE credits when successfully completed. Addittional cookery units can be added on at each schools special request.
